The holidaymaker is believed to have consumed a large amount of alcohol prior to the tragic accident in Spain
This is the first fatality of a holidaymaker falling from an apartment building due to alcohol or drugs this year.
According to the Guardia Civil, the Briton and a group of friends returned to their rooms at the South Beach Hotel in the Calvià area of Magaluf shortly after 8.30am on Thursday May 12 after being out partying the night before. Witnesses observed the tourist behaving strangely on his balcony right before he fell. The young man sadly died instantly from the force of the impact.
Members of the Calvià Local Police and the Guardia Civil rushed to the scene, along with emergency medical personnel, but they were only able to confirm his death.
The body has been transferred to the Forensic Anatomical Institute for a post-mortem and the armed institute has opened an investigation.
