Jiakun, a renowned developer and architect, has compiled an impressive list of notable works that showcase his creativity and deep understanding of urban design. At the heart of his architecture.height is what defines his work, blending culture and commerce to create a vibrant living district. In一场 comprehensive overview, he highlights the infrastructure of the West Village in Chengdu, a 2015 five-story project that completely transforms a concrete block into a lifeline for hundreds of thousands of people. The magnificent West Village, with its sprawling pathways,∮opatches“its vibrant city of culture, athletics, recreational,”“and allowsyc debark the public to approach through windows overlooking its natural and built environments.”This project is a testament to Chinese architecture, which can be both grandiose and elevating. On the other hand, his latest project, the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCAI) Department of Sculpture at Chongqing, is a striking yet ambitious effort to rethink how art and architecture cancon stributes to open up spaces they no longer thought suitable for design. With its upper levels extended outward, it extends square footage of a space that once seemed too narrow, while remaining if not toobddown, and into the surrounding city and natural surroundings.

Bridging the gap between design and reality, Liu Jiakun’s architecture is often more methodical and strategic than visually impressive. In a Fields of观察, he described his approach as being less about niceness and more about understanding the local conditions while taking a careful and deliberate approach to design. “I don’t want to have a very clear or obvious style that can be recognised as mine just at a glance,” he recalled. “I take a more methodological and strategic approach. I hope that when I go to a specific place, I can use my methodology and strategy to adapt to local conditions. I like to fully understand the place first, and then look for problems,… and then refine, and finally create my work.”Liu Jiakun’s work is both an architectural statement and a catalyst for new life, reflecting his deep affection for China’s rich architectural heritage. For example, his mysterious clock museum in Chengdu features a grand circular courtyard that evokes the timeless elegance of a sundial, while his famous brick museum in Suzhou distills the essence of brick architecture. More recently, he has worked with Shiz oatdiscounts to transform a dramatic cliffside cave complex into a history packed with architectural and cultural insights.

As an esteemed recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize awarded to刘临金, as per Pritzker recognitions, his reputation is confirmed once again. Pritsker Saw that architecture needs not merely create beauty but also solve problems for people. In his interview, Boudou described what he means—they shouldn’t only dominate a past but also a present and future. As anudedancer of his monumental West Village project, Liu Jiakun viewed architectural innovation as a mutually beneficial process. “I think China’s traditional architecture is certainly brilliant and very classic,” he said, “but it is a product of its time.”He believes that while Chinese architecture is exceptional, it must also be contextualized with contemporary technology and language, allowing it to survive during a changing world.
