The EU has started legal proceedings towards the Uk immediately after it revealed laws that would override the pieces of the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Maros Sefcovic, vice-president of the European Commission, claimed the approach to tear up the arrangement, which governs Northern Ireland’s put up-Brexit buying and selling arrangements, was illegal.
The fee confirmed that Brussels will resume legal proceedings against the United kingdom, which it suspended in September, for breaching the EU withdrawal treaty agreed in 2020.
Mr Sefcovic reported: “Let there be no question: there is no authorized nor political justification by any means for unilaterally switching an intercontinental settlement.
“This is unlawful. The British isles bill is very harmful to mutual rely on and regard involving the EU and the British isles.”
