These tests suggest the presence of asthmatic bronchitis, necessitating cortisone antibiotic therapy, known for its moderate effectiveness in treating respiratory infections.

The pope’s status remained optimistic, despite the diagnosis. A week-long bout of bronchitis entered a more severe state, with the Holy Father asymptomatic, described as “fair” at this point. The Vatican spokesperson, Matteo Bruni, emphasized that the ospic was “unstable at this time,” specifically noting the onset of bilateral pneumonia. On Monday, Bruni revealed the diagnosis was brought into question, asTORC ct scan map would show the onset of bilateral pneumonia.

According to Bruni, the pope has been taking in air, reading newspapers, and working from his hospital room. No specific information has been provided regarding how long he is likely to remain hospitalized, beyond the fact that treatment is being re-evaluated, with two drug changes in his regime likely to deepen his reliance on hospital care.
