The man crashed into the jetski ridden by his son near the port of Pasito Blanco in San Bartolomé de Tirajana
A 43-year-old Frenchman lost his life on Wednesday afternoon in a jet-ski accident near the port of Pasito Blanco in Gran Canaria in which his 47-year-old wife also suffered significant head injuries.
The incident in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana occurred at approximately 16.00, when the jet-ski ridden by the victim collided with another which was being used by his 17-year-old son. While the woman was taken to the medical centre in Maspalomas the youngster was treated for an anxiety attack, and his mother later discharged herself from hospital in order to be with him.
Following the head-on collision of the two jet-skis the man managed to make his own way to the shore, but shortly afterwards the injuries he sustained after being thrown from his vehicle and then hit by it proved too serious for him to survive.
