The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has unveiled the original record of athletes awarded Olympic Scholarships for Refugee Athletes to assistance educate towards being chosen for the IOC Refugee Olympic Team at Paris 2024.
The 44 athletes appear from 12 international locations and are competing in 12 athletics.
Of the group, 23 athletes competed as section of the IOC Refugee Olympic Group at Rio 2016 and/or Tokyo 2020.

The Refugee Olympic Crew was made up of 10 athletes when they 1st competed at Rio, acquiring been established up by the IOC to raise consciousness of the world wide refugee crisis.
The scholarships are fully funded by the IOC and provide the athletes with guidance to prepare and compete in qualification tournaments forward of Paris 2024.

The athletes come from: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Venezuela.
They are becoming supported by 16 host National Olympic Committees: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Good Britain, Israel, Jordan, Kenya, Portugal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, Turkey, United States of The usa, and Uruguay.
The composition of the Refugee Olympic Crew will be introduced in 2024.
The scholarship announcement will come forward of Earth Refugee Day on June 20.
