Flowers have been accumulating in Den Bosch on the spot where a 34-year-old woman was stabbed to death on Wednesday morning in the presence of her baby.
The woman was attacked when she was walking along the Ploossche Hof by a 31-year-old man with whom she is thought to have been in a relationship. Witnesses said he had been seen following her in a car.
The man stabbed her ‘dozens of times’ in the presence of their one-year-old who was lying in a pram before being worked to the ground by passers-by. They held onto him until the police arrived.
‘It is horrendous what happened here,’ one local told local broadcaster Omroep Brabant. ‘My wife saw it happen and it really stays with you. The flowers are a nice gesture.’
