Roads into the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel terminal in Folkestone weren’t affected by the traffic yesterday, but Countrywide Highways suggests this weekend is “probably to be very busy”.

Passengers on affected routes are urged to strategy forward and look at right before they travel – and if trains are cancelled, travellers can adjust their ticket, get a refund, or use their ticket right up until Tuesday.

Even further strikes are planned subsequent month in the deadlocked row over shell out, work opportunities and problems – with Aslef’s normal secretary Mick Whelan insisting industrial action is “often the last resort”.

He added: “We you should not want to inconvenience travellers, our pals and people use general public transportation too, and we really don’t want to lose money by going on strike – but we have been forced into this position by the organizations, who say they have been driven to this by the Tory authorities.”

Mr Whelan claimed that lots of Aslef members have not experienced a shell out rise in a few several years – and with inflation “operating at north of 10%”, these drivers have found their shell out drop in authentic terms.
