The UK government updates its green, amber and red travel lists with Spain remaining where it is
Despite a significant drop in infections and the fact 68 per cent of the population is fully immunised, Spain failed to make the UK’s green travel list in the latest three-weekly update.
However, remaining on the amber list does mean that, at the moment, vaccinated travellers can still travel to and from Spain without having to quarantine in the UK, (non-vaccinated people will have to isolate for 10 days), but will have to carry out a pre-departure test, a PCR test on or before day two and fill in a passenger locator form.
Whilst the Azores, Canada, Denmark, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, and Switzerland were added to the green list in Thursday’s review (August 27), Turkey and the Maldives remains on the red list, and have been joined by Montenegro and Thailand.
According to the latest figures, more than 21 million Covid passports have already been issued in Spain, the vast majority to people who have received full Covid vaccination.
