A Cupboard minister has told Sky News he fears rail strikes will go forward this week – and warned that staff will have to make sacrifices as the Uk battles inflation.
Simon Clarke, Main Secretary to the Treasury, mentioned that while the government was not the legal employer of union users due to stroll out, they could not anticipate “inflation-busting fork out will increase”.
“I dread it is most likely that they [the strikes] will go in advance,” reported Mr Clarke. “Obviously we will continue on to aid the negotiations until such time is you will find no far more time to go over.
“But I imagine the public do this week need to have to be conscious there will be quite substantial disruption and it is hence wise to make preparations for that.”
