The oldest resident of the Netherlands has died at the age of 110, local broadcaster RTV Noord has reported.
Ebeltje Boekema-Hut died on Saturday at the nursing home where she has lived since her husband died in 1990.
She was born on August 31, 1911 in Zevenhuizen where her father had a farm. She later took the farm over, where she had four daughters, the oldest of whom is now 85.
Longevity is in her family. Boekema-Hut’s mother reached the age of 97 and her great grandmother was 101, RTV Noord said.
It is not yet clear who the title of oldest resident now belongs to. National statistics agency CBS said last week the Netherlands now has some 2,600 residents over the age of 100.
