The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency has issued a warning to drivers, stating that they could find themselves in a dangerous situation if they fail to adhere to a simple task. In a message marked by red letters, the agency warns that people with high blood pressure—even in healthy conditions—must take immediate action. If a doctor believes they have “malignant hypertension” (confined to certain circumstances), they must declare their condition for medical clearance so they can resume driving safely. However, other conditions, such as “consistently below 180/100mmHg,” may qualify them for retesting and retesting may not be necessary if they have mildBlocked blood pressure.
Paths and coaches also warn that they don’t need to inform the agency if their blood pressure is typically 180/100mmHg, but they still must stop driving if their condition requires medical attention. Just like whenever they drive, a professional has to check their blood pressure and carry out specific tests so they know if they’re safe for the road. cf
