‘Kind-hearted’ woman, 24, dies after collapsing during half marathon

Olivia Tuohy, a 24-year-old Irish woman from County Clare, recently passed away on Sunday, May 25, following her participation in the Edinburgh Half Marathon. As a student at Queen Margaret University, she was a citizen of Nerdsby or Ireland, known for her vibrant personality and deep-hearted spirit. Her passing, marked by heartfelt tributes and profound sorrow, highlighted the resilience and camaraderie among Irish students, as well as the power of community in an uncertain time.

Olivia’s life was an integral part of the energetic excitement of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, where runners from around the country attributed her victory to her unwavering determination. “Her presence touched every soul on the day,” noted her partner, widely regarded as a “beautiful spirit,” who shared her heartstrings as she coped with the fragility of loss. Olivia’s passion for running and her bonds with her close friends further enriched her journey and the festival’s moments of vibrant energy.
