The Kenya Grief and Transformation Through Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice: A Humanizing Journey

In 2023, the impact of family’s grief at no longer being able to rely on a traditional Reliable Care Provider for a seven-year-old with severe complex needs has been profound. Simon and Helen Morley, aged 67 and 66 respectively, faced a significant challenge post-pregnancy, when their daughter, Ruby-Mae (2 and a half years old), delivered with severe epilepsy, Rett syndrome, and complex needs such as using a wheelchair and needing an eye-gaze device, in addition to her inability to communicate rhythmically. However, a pivotal moment during their birthing journey occurred when their epilepsy consultant revealed something deeply personal to one of the Morley sisters, but will no longer be revealed to the public. This revelation proved the most impactful weight on Simon and Helen’s hearts, as they immediately looked for a more compassionate solution to their daughter’s needs and pain.
