Waterworld’s statement in FULL as girl, 4, dies following ‘incident’ at water park

    The tragic event at Waterworld on August 4, 2023, came to a unexpected end when a four-year-old girl was found unconscious at the water park, Lagoon, in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. The situation at Waterworld, which attracts over 400,000 visitors annually, was initially reported by the public as “great sadness” and “shock”. Despite efforts by staff and paramedics, the girl was declared dead in an hospital following what the authorities described as a “sudden fall from the parents’ arms”. The situation, including the circumstances of the incident and its investigation, was being closely monitored by Waterworld, which had exclusive access to the poolside where the incident took place.

  2. The Community’s Response
    Staffordshire Police and reports from other water park operators highlighted the urgentness of the situation. In a statement from theAquatics Park, appointee Waterworld spokesperson Miriam Jenkins stated, “We are in shock and deeply saddened by the passing of this little girl.” The girl, Mikala Williams, was last seen found unconscious at 4:15 pm on August 4, and water park staff and paramedics rushed to urgent care, providing first aid. evacuation was advised for others to become absententia to avoid unnecessary crowd stress. By consistently shutting down the pool to allow for the investigation and strong emotional support, the company demonstrates a commitment to preserving hope and healing for its community. From 2023’s closure until 2024, the public can join Waterworld on their terms, knowing that the trajectory of the incident is now left to the community to sort out.
