The last weekend of August is set to be cool and cloudy with occasional showers, with temperatures struggling to reach 20 degrees.
Friday evening will be mostly dry and sunny, but with showers and possibly thunderstorms in the eastern fringe. Temperatures will be around 18-19 degrees, some three or four degrees lower than normal for the time of year.
Saturday will bring a mix of clouds and sunshine, with the highest chance of rain in the south-east. A northerly wind will keep the temperature down to around 19 degrees and will be stronger in coastal areas.
The same conditions will prevail on Sunday, with more rain in the east and sunshine in the west. Early next week the temperature will rise slightly to around 21 degrees with the west enjoying more sunshine but showers on the coast.
