A woman accused of stabbing her half-sister to death livestreamed the event on Instagram, police have confirmed.
21-year-old Bouchra D. fatally wounded her half-sister Anouk den Dekker, 20, on Saturday in the house in Den Bosch where they both lived. Den Dekker managed to flee to a neighbour’s house after the incident, at around 7.50pm, but died before the emergency services arrived.
D, who was arrested at the scene, livestreamed images of the victim via her Instagram account. Screenshots of the video have been circulating on social media.
Police have called on people not to share the images. ‘How would you feel if images like this of your parents, sister of friend surfaced online? This is terrible for the family,’ a spokesperson said.
D. also stabbed a dog eight times but it survived the attack and was treated at a hospital in Waalwijk. Police said the animal was recovering well.
