In contemporary modern times, technological advancements have become a key to the opening of many treasures, which people might have regarded as impossible in earlier times. With every new advancement comes a new field of learning about and exploring to understand it to the core and be aware of what is happening worldwide.
One such significant technological advancement is all set to roll on July 20th, 2021, with Blue Origin being all set to launch its first spaceflight with a crew in it. It is an event that many look forward to with awe and excitement. One of the significant points of consideration that has been a query of many people is who will be boarding this flight that will pave their way to space. There will be four people who are set to be called astronauts, with them travelling to space with the human launch by Blue Origin.
Quartet boarding the Blue Origin’s spaceflight
The first person that is likely to come to our mind out of the quartet, with him being the founder of the company, Blue Origin itself, in 2000, is 57-year-old Jeff Bezos. Bezos is all set to bid adieu to the planet for a few minutes, where he went on to create his current net-worth that is around $200 billion. He will be boarding the spaceflight along with his brother Mark.
Mark is a financier who handles the responsibility of directing the Bezos Family Foundation along with working as a volunteer firefighter. The news of him being one of the quartet members has been like a trend on social media last month when a video of Jeff Bezos surprising him with an invite to his mission went viral.
Beating the air of sexism that has polluted the space industry, 82-year-old Wally Funk is all set to break the barriers with her being set to become the oldest ever person to become an astronaut. Though she did have an accomplished career in the aviation industry by becoming the first air safety navigator for the National Transportation Safety Board along with her serving as the chief pilot in many flight schools, her dream to travel to space was hindered a lot of times. But she is ready to ace it with Blue Origin, with her being one of the four people to travel to space in the first crewed spaceflight.
The last person of this quartet to travel on July 20th is the 18-year-old Oliver Daemon, who was lucky enough to grab this opportunity considering the scheduling issues with the $28 million auction winner whose identity is still anonymous. Oliver is a space lover who holds the license of being a private pilot and would be studying physics in the university as part of his further studies. He will be the youngest astronaut to travel to space.
So, the above stated are the four people who will be the crew in Blue Origin’s first spaceflight human launch on July 20th, 2021.
