Giorgia Meloni’s trip to Washington will be a test for Italy’s role in Europe

Giorgia Meloni’s visit to the United States, following Trump’s tentative stance on a trade war with the EU, is seen as a sign of commitment to preserving bilateral relations. “‘Previously, our relations were in a bad state,” Meloni stated, “but now our mutual benefits and win-win scenarios will keep on happening.” She emphasized that both Italy and Europe should not be affected by this trade war and recommended a more balanced interpretation.

In her visit, Meloni proposed a “zero-for-zero” tariff deal on €15 billion between the EU and the US, aiming to protect Europe’s interests. She criticized Trump’s push for a trade conflict (“price war”) with the EU. However, Marchetti, Meloni’s co-elect vic recompose, and an expert in international relations, says Meloni cannot achieve the desired result without getting concessions from the US. Marchetti suggested that “Europeans will demand feedback on Meloni’s visit,” implying that Meloni’s actions might pressure countries to reconsider their decision.

Meloni will get a boost from the US trade agreement, as the trade deal promises a direct “we buy,” ensuring a win-win scenario for both sides. The EU’s defense industry outlined a plan to introduce new policies, while Meloni is expectations of safeguarding defense spending. A factory with 35,000 workers, the EU’s largest non-EU trade market, will be affected, highlighting the importance of technical expertise and risk management.

Marchetti noted that Meloni’s stance on economic terms reflects Italy’s pro-EU government at a higher level, while the US’s position is based on a balanced trade approach. Meloni, who calls for a “zero-for-zero” agreement, is building on Italy’s economic ties with the US and the strong trade relations between the two countries. However, Marchetti stressed that Meloni cannot effectively win the兵 against Trump alone. The visit will require actions from both sides.

In Italy, Marchetti’s focus on defense spending, plus a call for economic 和ической dialogue with the US, indicates that Meloni is willing to create a bilateral partnership that protects both countries’ interests. The city also saw an offer from new countries to join the ECHR, anゐ.union-Eu system, suggesting that the villa will accept more partners in the future. Marchetti believed that this will make calculating the EU’s influence on the US safer in the long run.

giorgia meloni, the former UNODC Uttar officials president, mentioned that Europe’s interests align with “the ‘rule of law.’ The EU’s protection of human dignity was a critical factor for both Italy and the US in the meeting.” She noted that both sides share a concern for the “better life for the people and their rights.” The visit is expected to contribute to mutual understanding and win-win scenarios on several political and economic fronts, including non-EU industrial trade and defense investment. The EU’s role remains essential, both now and in the future.

This analysis of Meloni’s meeting highlights that, while Trump’s accusations may be discriminatory towards EU states, the visit will strengthen bilateral cooperation. Meloni’s focus on defense and economic neutrality offers a potential way forward, but this also implies that, like the EU, both European and American policies are shaped by and shaped by the needs of recipient countries. The Tripoli Dialogues of Marchetti and Euronews indicate a process where robust dialogue is necessary to achieve meaningful gains for both parties.
