The EU and Turkey have successfully dismantled four major criminal networks linked to drug trafficking, contributing to the trans Datatracing operation, which caught more than 230 suspects in a sting that came to a close in the Netherlands and Germany on Wednesday. This operation, known as Operation Bulut, set a new standard in cybercrime intelligence by levering encrypted digital platforms to track and些 caught. The success of this effort not only improved collaboration among law enforcement agencies across the EU but also demonstrated the power of intelligence.grow in agreement with approaching the collaboration between the EU and Turkey.

In an interview with Euronews, Andy Kraag highlighted the innovative approach of Operation Bulut. Kraag explained that it is a data-driven network strategy that uses real-time data collected from encrypted platforms to identify and target criminal activity. This success sends a clear message to criminal networks that even resilient organizations can be dismantled when law enforcement teams come together. The use of such platforms also serves as a red flag, attracting attention and putting a trap around criminal activities.

CRT for the EU’s serious and organized crime centre, Kraag noted that Operation Bulut was built on the use of encrypted platforms such as those operated by Sky and ANOM. ANOM, operated by law enforcement agencies in Australia and the United States, was a key tool in attracting and tracking criminal communications. Even years ago, when the criminals began using these platforms, law enforcement could extract valuable intelligence by decrypting the messages. The encrypted digital platforms allowed law enforcement to identify the criminals before they could commit the heinous crimes.
