Royal Mail administrators have voted to strike in a dispute more than what their union describes as an “unwell-believed-out redeployment programme”.
Members of the Unite union backed the industrial action by 86%, and by 89% in Northern Ireland.
Their ballot was a reaction to what the union suggests are programs to cut 542 frontline shipping managers’ positions, as well as put into practice a redeployment programme with worse conditions and disorders.
About 2,400 administrators at more than 1,000 shipping offices are involved in the dispute.
The strike dates have not but been confirmed.

A Royal Mail spokesperson explained: “We are disappointed by the announcement that Unite customers have voted in favour of the two industrial action and industrial motion small of a strike, also recognised as operate to rule.
