The cardinals of the Catholic Church have taken a significant step toward determining the next pope by naming 108 of them to vote in a critical moment. This conclave is expected to decide who will lead the Church through its challenging and complex era, emphasizing unity and diversity over uniformity. Pope Francis himself was elected to the position, and it is believed that the Vatican’s original cardinal, Giovanni Giovanni Re, will play a crucial role in guiding the selections.

Re has chosen governance over both the cardinals and thekea, ensuring faith-based decisions that align with Catholic Teachings. He has emphasized the importance of fostering unity while recognizing that the Church is inherently diverse. Re stated, “ unity … is a rare thing in the age of diversity it cannot exist without it.”
