Trump says ‘I’m not joking’ about running for an unconstitutional third term

In an interview with NBC News, Donald Trump declared that he was considering running for a third term in the US presidential race, effectively circumventing the 22nd Amendment, which explicitly prohibited election of a president more than twice. The amendment is part of the 1951 US Constitution and applies to consecutive ((vector) and non-consecutive terms. However, Trump suggested that while it’s impossible to win again in the current term, a third term in the future could offer a chance to stay in power. He emphasized that he didn’t mind debating himself early on and even admitted to being “joking” about the possibility.
