Two men, aged 22 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident involving a corrosive substance outside a McDonald’s in Ashton-under-Lyne. The incident occurred at around 4 PM on Friday, May 17. Emergency services, including police and a hazardous materials team, responded to the scene on Warrington Road. A man in his 30s was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The suspects remain in custody, and authorities have stated there is no wider risk to the public.
