The Future Revolution in Technology: Empowering Young Women

In a world where young women areides potentially shaping global innovation, Tara Chklovski, CEO of Technovation, argues that true digital transformation can begin and empower her. Chklovski has a rich anecdotal memory of starting a "/rc playful," a Microsoft-like start-up with a 17-year-old girl. This story not only redefines gender equality in tech but also underscores the importance of giving young women the same support and recognition as men.

The phenomenon of gender disparity in the workplace continues to be a pressing issue, with 42% of the global labor force being women. However, while women account for nearly half of entry-level positions, they only make up less than 25% of the C-suite roles. These disparities are particularly evident in STEM fields. Currently, only 28.2% of the workforce in STEM fields are composed of women. Chklovski, empowering young women to launch their own tech ventures through her company Technovation, has claimed we are missing out by not recognizing every opportunity. Her analogy to Microsoft’s "/rc playful" perfectly captures the potential for young women to shape technology.

The world faces significant barriers to gender equality in tech. Stigmas rooted in societal hierarchies negative our professional and personal lives, including those in Covid, where women scientists with children faced learning responsibilities and fewer publications than their male counterparts. Chklovski recognized these challenges, stating that external funding remains a bottleneck for women. She emphasizes that while there has been progress in some areas, fostering an equal ecosystem is crucial. Her personal story of creating a "/rc playful" serves as a testament to the potential when young women are given the same respect and resources as men.

Techovation, founded in 2006 and prioritizing women in tech, is currently active in 120 countries, supporting diverse projects. The company acts as an accelerator, guiding young women through their leadership journeys. Beyond fostering entrepreneurship, Techovation equips participants with essential technical skills, addressing gaps in the workforce. Despite challenges, Chklovski acknowledged stigmas were stinging yet a critical part of the struggle. Her journey starts with a "/rc playful," ensuring that every young woman feels deserving of recognition as a leader and idea provider.

In the future, Tara Chklovski’s proposal centred on bridging the gap between genders in tech, aiming to empower women through mentorship and funding. Her podcast series, My Wildest Prediction, offers a lens to explore these invisible forces, blending personal narrative with professional insights. By embracing diversity and recognizing our potential, we can harness the power of young women to shape a more equitable and innovative world. This vision—not yet realized but a promising one—is an invitation to redefine how technology thrives and learns.
