Samsung’s presence at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas underscored the company’s commitment to integrating artificial intelligence (AI) across its product ecosystem. The keynote, aptly titled “AI for All,” showcased a range of AI-powered devices designed to seamlessly integrate into the modern home, promising a future where technology anticipates and caters to individual needs. This integration was exemplified by the long-awaited launch of Ballie, the AI-powered home robot, slated for release in the first half of 2025. Beyond Ballie, Samsung unveiled a suite of interconnected appliances, each designed to communicate and collaborate, creating a cohesive and intelligent home environment.

The star of the show, Ballie, a compact, wheeled robot resembling a yellow ball, represents Samsung’s vision for the future of home AI. Initially unveiled in 2020, Ballie has undergone significant development, culminating in its 2024 relaunch with enhanced AI capabilities and integrated camera functionality. Ballie’s multifaceted skillset allows it to capture and transmit video updates, project videos onto walls, play music, and even answer phone calls. This functionality positions Ballie not just as a novelty gadget, but as a potential central hub for managing and interacting with the smart home. While the price remains undisclosed, Ballie’s anticipated arrival in 2025 marks a significant step toward the realization of truly intelligent home companions.

Beyond Ballie, Samsung emphasized the interconnectedness of its smart home appliances. The company showcased a vision of seamless integration, where devices communicate and cooperate to streamline daily routines. A highlighted scenario illustrated this concept: after using a Samsung hairdryer, the home AI system would automatically instruct the connected vacuum cleaner to clean up any fallen hair. This level of automation and interoperability signifies a move towards a truly integrated home ecosystem, where devices anticipate and respond to user needs without explicit instruction. This interconnectedness extended to other appliances, including an AI-powered refrigerator capable of recognizing its contents and alerting users to missing ingredients for specific recipes.

Samsung’s innovation extended beyond robotics and home appliances, reaching into the realm of personal computing. The company announced the launch of new AI-powered PCs, the Galaxy Book5 Pro and Book5 360, equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors. These devices represent Samsung’s commitment to integrating AI capabilities into all aspects of its product lineup, extending the benefits of intelligent technology beyond the home and into the workplace and everyday computing experiences. This expansion into AI-powered PCs underscores Samsung’s ambition to position itself at the forefront of the AI revolution, catering to a diverse range of user needs and technological applications.

Behind the scenes at CES, Samsung’s business-to-business division provided a glimpse into the future of display technology. Euronews Next received an exclusive preview of innovative screen concepts, including an expandable screen capable of projecting in depth, hinting at potential breakthroughs in 3D display technology. Other exhibits showcased the durability of Samsung’s screens through dynamic demonstrations featuring robot dogs performing backflips, kicks, and dances. Further demonstrations highlighted the flexibility and versatility of Samsung’s display technology, featuring foldable screens and paper-like flexible displays, suggesting potential applications in a wide range of devices and form factors.

Samsung also showcased advancements in its QD-OLED panel technology, boasting a 30% increase in peak brightness compared to the previous generation. This improvement, according to Chirag Shah, Senior Director of Marketing Business Development at Samsung Display, “unlocks the language of color,” suggesting a richer and more vibrant visual experience. This advancement in display technology further solidifies Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of visual fidelity, promising more immersive and captivating viewing experiences for consumers. Finally, adding to the excitement surrounding the event, Samsung officially announced the date for its Winter Unpacked event, scheduled for January 22nd in San Jose, California, where rumors suggest the unveiling of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 line. This announcement generated further buzz and anticipation for Samsung’s upcoming product releases.
