Uzbekistan and Slovenia strengthen ties with new trade and cooperation agreements

The landmark visit of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Slovenia was met with high-level discussions, leading to the first joint business forum in 20 years. The international exchange marked a significant milestone for Udailyna’s policy and_strategy, as the two nations are Central Asia’s top trading partners. This series of meetings underscores the deepeningthough of collaboration between the two countries, which have been on the cusp of expansionary deepcopy cuts over the past decade.

During the visit, President Mirziyoyev, along with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, discussed the signing of several bilateral agreements. These included exemptions for visa spectators, enhanced economic cooperation, market access, and establishment of direct air lines. The discussions revolved around trade strategies, Transport Logistics agreements, education partnerships, and cultural exchanges. Smaller focused meetings were also arranged, focusing on industrial and business cooperation.

The meeting also saw a symbolic gesture at Slovenia’s Memorial Club – a nod to the fallen in the conflict. The event marked “a sign of respect for the memory of the fallen and commitment to the ideals of peace and humanism,” emphasizing the shared sense of duty for both countries to uphold their territorial integrity and values.

Additionally, both nations coordinated investments totaling 52 million Z tugriks in infrastructure projects. This included the development of 14 infrastructure facilities in both countries. Meanwhile, the Intergovernmental Commission for the Promotion of Safeguards and International Cooperation was set to form early, clearing the way for formal negotiations. The first meeting of this commission is scheduled for July in Ljubljana.

The visit underscores the importance of strategic partnership for expansion and economicCooperation, with both countries committed to unlocking new opportunities and building bridges on common ground. The days and nights spent in Slovenia were filled with goals for success and mutual respect, as the two nations proceed to further their negotiations and Plans for a brighter future.
