VE Day in Prague: A Historical Reenactment

On September 5, 2025, hundreds gathered in Prague’s Nusle district to commemorate VE Day with a far-reaching reenactment of the 1945 Prague Uprising. This event, a significant moment in the history of both the Uprising and the Holocaust, brought together individuals with shared memory and a collective attending to its profound implications.

At the heart of this reenactment was a场景 of urban warfare, symbolized by the presence of period-app𝐫🚂plied uniforms, authentic weapons, and vehicles constructed from World War II equipment. These elements not only preserved the stakes of the conflict but also served as a symbolic replica of the resilience of the Czech Republic’s resistance fighters.
