Asian markets and US futures tumble following global US tariff hikes

In early January 2023, the Tokyo Nikkei 225 index experienced a notable dip, dropping 2.9% from its opening level of 34,675.97 to 34,675.97 – 2.9% = 34,675.97 x 0.971 ≈ 33,677.65. Over the past eight weeks, the major economies have been under the weight ofTricks from Trump, with the market recovering gradually. However, the U.S. markets remain on a warning note, as they expected刺激 from Beijing’s economic policies to offset the higher tariffs.
